The Savannah Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana popularly known as Prof. Kalimonia has stated that the fortunes of a political party depends on the effectiveness of its communication team.
He made the comment during a get-together party of the Savannah regional NPP caucus at Bole Dubai on Friday, 7th January, 2022.
“The most difficult aspect of politics is communication. Whether the government is doing right or wrong, you are the people (party communicators) out there to always speak for the party. I appreciate your efforts and the party is grateful”, he said.
He added that because of the sensitive nature of party politics communication, communicators sometimes are threaten by their opponents or some stakeholders but they always endeavor to keep doing their best for their parties.
“Because of the nature of your work you may sometimes say something against someone or group and they come after you. I can remember our party regional communicator for the Savannah Region was banned from coming to Bole and stakeholders have to come in to resolve the issue”, he added.
He disclosed that the party has been victorious and able to win 3 parliamentary seats in the Savannah region out of the confidence and courage of the party’s communicators.
He applauded the Savannah Regional NPP communications team under the auspices of Mr. Issah Mohammed and encouraged them to keep doing their best for the party.
In a welcome address by Mr. Mohammed Issah he thanked the regional and constituency communication teams for their hardwork in preaching the good works of the NPP government to the citizenry.
He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the communications team government appointees, leadership of the party and it’s faithfuls for the support offered them whenever the need arises.
He further thanked the media for giving them the opportunity to sell their ideologies to the public and bringing to light their good works and ills as politicians as a way of ensuring that they are accountable go the people of the country.
