The chairman of the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Football Association Mr Alhassan Abdul-Rahman has provided a brand new football to a division three league side Sanyeri Soccer Stars following an appeal made by head coach Mr Bakar Abdul Aziz on 4th October, 2023.
The timely donation was made to the team on Saturday October 7 2023 after a pre – season friendly matche against Gindabour Young Stars in Sanyeri which the home side won by a goal to nil.
In a phone interview with Yagbon Radio, an obviously ecstatic coach Aziz siad the kind gesture by the chairman came at the right time since their only ball had spoilt. ” Chairman Rahman has responded to my appeal in quick time and I am honestly pleasantly surprised. ”
Coach Aziz also expressed his appreciation to the benevolent chairman on behalf of the team and the Sanyeri Community: “I want to use this opportunity to thank our Chairman. In fact the entire Sanyeri Community is grateful to him because football means a lot to us.” He added.
Sanyeri Soccer Stars will be competing in season’s Division Three league organised by the Sawla Tuna Kalba District Football Association. Their coach and aspiring Assemblyman said his team is motivated by the donation to do well in the league.
