Fire as it is widely shared, is a good servant but a bad master as you never know the amount of fire that could wreak havoc on your properties and fortunes within seconds.

In this regard, the Ghana National Fire Service personnel in the Bole District are rigorously educating citizens to put a cap on avoiding bush fires and outbreaks.

Some beneficiaries of this education are the staff of Yagbon radio who underwent a training session with the Fire Service on Friday, December 22, 2023.

The Officer in Charge of the Safety at Bole Fire Station, educated the staff on the many causes, preventions of fire and the proper use of fire extinguishers.

The Safety Officers educated the staff of the radio station on the proper ways to use a fire extinguisher as well as the proper extinguisher to use for the different classes of fire.

Participants were educated on the different types of fire extinguishers namely; Water extinguishers, Dry Powder Extinguishers, Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers and Foam Extinguishers.

“When using the fire extinguisher, remember the acronym PASS. P means pull the pin. A means aims at the base of the fire. S means squeeze the liver. The other S means sweep the extinguisher across the base of the fire”, the fire safety officer explained.

The Manager of Yagbon Radio, Mr. Ibrahim Wande Forgor  applauded the firefighters of the Bole District for the tips and assured them of collaborating together to help curtail outbreaks of fire in the area.
