Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, in the Savannah region, has donated Sewing Machines to some selected youths in apprenticeship in the Constituency.
The sewing machines were twelve in number donated to Maalkaateng and Poru communities.
He made the donations while in a campaign tour to those areas.
The MP, after the donation disclosed that the gesture was to help improve the lot of the constituents through entrepreneurial skills and apprenticeship, following his realisation that there are a lot of unemployed youth in the area, who were trying to make ends meet and are looking for unavailable white colour jobs.
As a result the MP is providing support in entrepreneurship and apprenticeship skills training like dressmaking.
According to him, identifying the needs of the youth early would help unravel their interests in terms of employable skills, and make life meaningful for them in the future.
He noted that the initiative would go a long way to help the beneficiaries realize their dreams in future.
Some of the beneficiary youth who received the items expressed their profound gratitude to the Member of Parliament for securing their future and to make them contribute their quota to the development of the country.
