The Sawla-Tuna District in the Savannah Region would soon receive more development projects including health, energy and education among others.

Hon. Lawal Tamimu, the DCE of the area made this known at a sod cutting of the projects on behalf of the NPP Parliamentary Candidate of the constituency, Mr. Seidu Nuhu Banasco.

He said the beneficiary communities would benefit from the construction of Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound, construction of school blocks, extension of electricity, construction of mechanised boreholes among others to improve their living conditions.

The DCE said the projects were secured through government flagship social intervention, termed “One million dollar per constituency,”under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program ( IPEP), spearheaded by the Northern Development Authority (NDA).

Hon. Lawal said the NPP government has shown commitment towards the welfare of the people through its numerous interventions which are affecting lives positively.

The DCE pledged to operate an open-door policy and reiterated his commitment to undertake a non-partisan pattern of development to ensure that the development needs of all communities are met.

He added that despite the wake of COVID- 19 development initiatives in our communities must be continued to improve upon the lives of people.

The occasion, which brought together the traditional rulers, parents, NPP faithfuls and members of the public, also afforded the DCE and his team the opportunity to donate some sanitary items including Veronica buckets and sanitizers to the various communities as well as resounding some of the precautionary measures regarding COVID- 19.
