The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) embarked on their engagement on the rule of law and fighting against corruption for women group on Wednesday 16th, 2026 at the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district.
Mr, Issahaku Losina, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NCCE Director speaking during the engagement, expressed that it’s a follow-up engagement because last year they were able to organise the women groups about 14 of them that include headressers, tailors association,
widows association among others for same corruption engagement purpose.
Mr. Issahaku Losina noted that the objective of the engagement is to reinforce the rule of law and for the women to apply the rule of law in their daily activities. That women encounter alot of barriers when it comes to the venue to go and report when people go against them.
He further explained that women interact with a lot of institutions and as such there is a possibility of people trying to corrupt them.
The engagement will help encourage them to resist and report corrupt practices to the appropriate quarters such as the CHRAJ, Social Welfare, DOVVSU for necessary actions to be taken.
“The engagement will strengthen them to be accountable, promote integrity and by so doing Ghana will move in the right direction and the menace of corruption can be reduced to the bearer minimum”, he said.
