The Savanna Regional Minister, Hon Adam Braimah Salifu has promised to bring the perennial water problem facing the inhabitants of Deba, a farming community in the North East Gonja District to an end.

Hon Adam Salifu Braimah who doubles as the New Patriot Party’s Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency was visibly worried upon visiting a community dam which serves as the only source of drinking water to the entire Deba community.

The Minister’s encounter with the plight of the people of Deba was occasioned by his unannounced inspection of the Bunjai – Fufulso road which is undergoing construction.

The Minister who followed the women of the community to the only water source described their plight as extremely pathetic and promised to as a matter of urgency, establish links with a contractor for the dam to be put right.

Hon Braimah later inspected a road construction underway in the area and expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and praised the contractor for work done so far.

He however urged the contractor to ensure a speedy execution and completion of the project for the benefit of the people.

The Minister indicated that the Bunjai-Fufulso road when completed will serve as a link road that will connect the East Gonja and the North East Gonja Districts to Damango, the capital of the Savanna Region.

”Our people in the Salaga South and North Constituencies will not need to pass through Tamale before getting to Damango, our Regional Capital ” the Minister stated.

The Bunjai – Fufulso road which was captured in the 2020 budget was awarded on contract to MAWUMS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LTD. The Contractor has since moved to site and work on the road is progressing with speed.
