The Regional Parliamentary Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Savannah Region has released the schedule for the vetting of its parliamentary aspirants in four orphan constituencies.
In a Press Release signed by Mohammed Issah, the Regional Secretary, he stated that the vetting would be held on Thursday 16th November ,2023 at the party’s secretariat for all aspiring candidates.
By that release, Raphael Abolasom Kumah and David Sei Demah will appear for the Bole-Bamboi constituency, the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba constituency has four aspirants namely; Ankaara Sankara, Gilbieri Jonathan, Seidu Banasco Nuhu and Lonsina Barkisu.
The Yapei- Kusawgu constituency has Nbonwura Bashiru, Amadu Zakaria and BF Haruna and its parliamentary aspirants who are to appear before the vetting committee on Thursday.
While Salifu Adam Braimah and Alidu Zakaria will also face the vetting committee for the Salaga- South constituency.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it will hold parliamentary primaries for constituencies without representation in parliament (orphan constitutes) on December 2, 2023.
In a statement issued by the General Secretary, Justin Koduah, the party indicated that the date for the primaries was set at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Friday, November 10, 2023.
It added that the vetting for the parliamentary aspirants for these constituencies would be done between November 14, 2023 and November 16, 2023.
“Vetting of aspiring Parliamentary Candidates in these Constituencies shall take place in the various regional capitals from Tuesday, 14th November 2023, to Thursday, 16th November 2023.
“Regional Executive Committees are hereby directed to communicate to their respective Constituencies and aspiring parliamentary candidates the dates, time and venue for vetting,” part of the statement reads.
