President Akufo-Addo paid a courtesy call on Wasipewura.

The President of the Republic of Ghana has on Thursday 25th August 2022, paid a courtesy call on the Wasipewura Mumuni Anyame Kabasagya (II) of the Wasipe Traditional Area of the Savannah Region.

In a speech delivered by Gbenapewura on behalf of the Wasipewura said, “I welcome the the president to Wasipe on this grand occasion when he is to inspect health related projects which are most dear to our hearts”.

He thanked the President immensely for linking their roads which he said had propel development in the area as he said works on the Daboya-Mankarigu though uncompleted, but has started yielding benefits.

It has given access to farmlands, markets and as such post harvest losses have reduced to minimal level.

The chief also implored on the President to work on the Daboya town roads befitting of a District capital.

“Indeed the North Gonja District is currently the only District in the whole of Ghana without a kilometer of tarred road”, he said.
Speaking at the palace, the President said, the aim of his visit is a yearly activity which affords him the opportunity to interact with chiefs and people across the country to get first hand information on community challenges and how to address them.

According to the President three towns in the Savannah Region that is Damongo, Daboya and the Salaga North, the township roads have been awarded to a contractor so the Wasipewura should be assured that the township roads will be done the same way the Daboya- Busunu roads is also part of the roads development structure.

The President added that a 135kms are ongoing, and also mentioned that he had the opportunity to discuss with the Minister of Education in Accra whether it will be possible to absorb the private Training College into the public schools Center and also the bridge of Daboya is going to be done and am confident that when I am back next year you will see that it has been done.

He added Daboya, has been selected to benefit from the Agenda 111 project,thus; District and regional hospitals and assured that before he leaves Office, Daboya will have a District hospital.
