The Savannah Regional Peace Council has held a two day stakeholders dialogue on peaceful coexistence in Bole for Nsunua community in the Mandari Electoral Area.
The dialogue forms part of the promotion of community dialogue and community peace committees to strengthen social cohesion in Nsunua in Bole and Lukula in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region.
In a welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the Savannah Regional Peace Council Mr Clifford Tampuori, explained that the project is sponsored by the Norwegian Foreign Affairs .
He appealed to them to them to support the process to bring about peace as the council may not know exactly what is happening in Nsunua.
Mr Tampuori explained their mandate is maintain and resolve conflict in Ghana.
Mr Tampuori said after their research they realized key conflict issues within our community involve minority tribes adding that the essence of the dialogue is to set mechanisms for early warning and early response to violence ,It is also to strengthen socio economics resilience among the hard men and women youth groups in vulnerable communities and to counter violence extremist.
So we bring you to discuss on issues that are hampering peaceful coexistence in Nsunua community, Mr Tampuori stated.
The Regional Chairman of the Peace Council Rev ft. Lazarus Anyere said dialogue is the best way in conflict resolution.
He said immediately both sides involved in the conflict begin to listen to each other that is the beginning of the peace process.
The Head of the Martyrs of Uganda Parish said immediately you are able to identify a way of life a person or group of people live, then you should be able to coexist.
He urged all to do away with stereotyping hate speech among land disputes are the major causes of conflict in Savannah Region.
