Mr. Bonyiritey Peter, Ashanti Regional President of the Birifor Youth Association, has urged parents to invest in the education of their children to enable them to become responsible citizens.
He said the best legacy parents could bequeath to their children was sound education and expressed worry that some parents failed to provide their children with their basic needs.
Mr.Peter gave the advise as another academic year is set to start on Tuesday January 10, 2023.
He said “parents should be aware that their children are their assets and must be responsible for their proper upbringing and development” to avoid indiscipline among the youth.
Mr. Peter urged parents to pay their children’s school fees regularly since failure to do so would affect the smooth running of schools.
He called on parents and teachers to collaborate for the development of children.
He urged parents to ensure that every child of school going age attends school.
“There is no more excuses for not sending children to school, you just have to guide your child to school to ensure that he becomes part of the enlightened society that would help transformation in the area in future,” he added.
