Nasco Feeding Minds, a Non –Governmental Organization (NGO) has on February 18, 2021, donated educational materials to Sawla D/A primary School and Nahari D/A primary school in the Sawla-Tuna Kalba District of the Savannah Region.

The donation, which took place at the school’s premises was part of the organization’s humanitarian activities aimed at encouraging pupils and parents in deprived communities to know the importance of education.

The donation comprised of learning aids and other items such as school uniforms and foot wears for both male and female pupils of the school’s including bicycles that were handed over to four students of Tuna Senior High Technical School who stay at Nahari and normally commute to school every day spending over two hours on the journey.

“I am happy that I have received this bicycle from the NGO which will aid me in my movement in and out of school,I am much grateful to Mr Banasco and his team, Nanta Samari, one of the beneficiary student told Yagbon News”.

An elated headteacher of the D/A primaryschool, Mrs. Janet Hawa Kapori, commended the organisers of the project and said the donation was timely and would help enhance teaching and learning in the school.

“I think the donation by Nasco Feeding Minds is a great one that will help most of the pupils here and I am sure those who are feeling hesitant to come to school will make amends.”

Mr. Seidu Nuhu Banasco, the Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds, who spoke to Yagbon News after the presentation said, they will continue supporting all needy pupils in the District.

“We realised that when you go to the remote areas, parents and students do not know the essence of education. So we had to undertake this project to let them know that education is important”

Mrs. Moshi Mama , a mother whose was given school uniform and exercise books expressed her excitement to the donors and promised she will ensure the items given her ward would be put to proper use.
