The Assembly Member for Mempeasem Electoral Area in the Bole District, Hon .Mahama Shiraz Deen believes he has achieved roaring success as the representative of his Electoral Area at the Bole District Assembly.

In his view not only has the Electoral Area gained greater visibility owing to his active participation in the deliberations of the House but also all key sectors such as education, health, employment amongst others have received massive boosts under his tenure as an Assemblyman.

These were contained in statement he issued on February 18,2021.

Hon. Mahama, who is currently the manager of the Bole District National Health Insurance Authority, lists areas such water and sanitation, street/ community lightening, education, and health as having received priority attentio

To improve the health status of his people, he stated that he is lobbying for a CHPs compound to be built in his electoral area and had since registered 350 underprivileged residents under the National Health Insurance Scheme policy.

As part of his tireless efforts to facilitate development for the area, the Assembly said said he is lobbying with some International Organizations to get vocational equipment for the people of his Electoral Area to equip with entrepreneurial skills to make them self sufficient.

See below Hon Mahama Shiraz Deen list of achievements as Assembly Member for Mempeasem Electoral Area.

HOW FAR WE HAVE PROGRESS IN MEMPEASEM; OUR COMMUNITY, OUR HOME.*

It’s been over a year since I was sworn into office as an assembly member for my Electoral Area, Mempeasem.

My people voted for me based on my campaign message and with high hopes. By the special grace of God I have put in place measures to fulfill some of my promises. I shall catalogue my achievements in Nine points.

*1. STREET/COMMUNITY LIGHTNING.*
In my one year into office, I have written one letter to the office of our Member of Parliament and four letters to the office of the Bole District Assembly to aid me in retrofitting the various street lights in our Area. For some months now, I have not had a reply from these two important offices. I took it upon myself to use my miger resources to undertake this great task. I spent one thousand, two hundred and fifty Ghana cedis of my personal money in this initiative.
I also received four street light lamps from Bole District Assembly. Upon seeing that this number is woefully inadequate, I contacted friends from different Districts and constituencies and end up getting six extra bringing the total florescent street lights in our area to ten. The installation of these street lights cost me me over three hundred Ghana cedis of my personal money.
I have also lobbied from the District Office of VRA for a transformer to be mounted in one section of our Electoral Area to curb the intermittent power flactuation.
Major part of our Electoral Area been new settlement without light, assisted a number of people to get prepaid meters for their use.

*2. SANITATION.*
Our Electoral Area with a population of over six thousand inhabitants depends on one public toilet and one refuse dam container. I pay regular visit to the care taker of the toilet to give him the necessary assistance for the smooth operation of the toilet, which includes giving him protective gears and money to procure cleaning materials and equipments. All this are done with my personal money.
Realizing that the dumping of refuse in our Area is done by children and the vertical length of the container impedes propper disposal, I procured a ladder on two occasions which ended up being stolen. I am currently in the process of getting one again for the benefit of our people.
Currently, I am lobbying with the Sanitation department of the Bole District Assembly for two extra refuse dump containers to be mounted in areas far away from the current dumping site.

*3. EDUCATION*
I also paid a visit to all the schools in my Electoral Area to introduce myself to them as their Assembly Member so that they could easily call on me for any assistance when the need arise. I have since come to their aid on several occasions.

*4. HEALTH*
Am currently lobbying from the Bole District Assembly for a CHPS COMPOUND to be put up for the use of our people. I have also lobbied from the District Social Welfare Department and Three Hundred and Fifty (350) less privileged persons from our Electoral Area have been registered under the National Health Insurance Scheme for free.

*5. WATER.*
I have constantly responded to the call of my people to work on the various boreholes in our Electoral Area on many occasions. Luckily for me in this regard, my community reimburse me on two occasion after working on the borehole from the proceeds of the sale of the Water.
I am also constantly in touch with the the department of Bole Water Board and in this regard, many burst and leaking pipes are repaired on time for Our people to continue getting regular Water supply.
I have also intervened on many occasions to settle dispute between customers of Bole Water Board who happens to be residents of Mempeasem and the Board on issues of wrong billing and non payment of bills.

*6. PARTICIPATION IN COMMUNITY SOCIAL ACTIVITIES.*
a. Naming Ceremonies
b. Marriage ceremonies
c. Funerals
d. Attend/Honour invitation to Arabic School graduations and Maulids
e. Attend/Honour invitation to all Christian programs.

*7. OPPORTUNITIES/SKILLS DEVELOPMENT/EMPLOYMENT CREATION.*
I have assisted several of our people to get into apprenticeship who I believe in the long run will become self sufficient.
I am also lobbying with some international organizations to get vocational equipments for our people and currently, some of my fellow citizens of Mempeasem have already benefited in this scheme and also plans are far advanced in more people benefiting.

*8. SETTLEMENT OF FEUDS BETWEEN INDIVIDUALS*
As typical of every human institution, disagreements are bound to occur. In my one year into office, I have aided in the settlement of over twelve disputes between individuals. Many of which have been recalled from the police service to be settled at family/community level.

*9. PROJECTING  MEMPEASEM AT VARIOUS LEVELS.*
Through my communication prowess, I have projected Mempeasem extensively through by contributions both at the Assembly meetings and other places I am invited in the name of Mempeasem.

Mempeasem Deserves Better
All because of my people.
