The President of the Gonja land Youth Association has on Saturday, April 3, 2021, on the occasion of the National Association Congress in Bole sworn in new executives board of the National Association of Gonjaland students.
Administering the oath of office to the new executives the president of GLYA Mr Mohammed Amin charged to stay united as they study hard in school to achieve their goals and aspirations.
Speaking to Yagbon Radio, the outgone President Mr Ismael Abdul Fataw said they need commitment from stakeholders to build an educational fund in order to support students from Gonjaland.
He also said the lackadaisical attitude of leadership toward the burning of Charcoal in commercial quantities and wood logging is worrying.
He said they should show real commitment as the consequencies could be dire.
The new President, a student of the University of Education Winneba, Abubakari Hafisu said his outmost priority is to unite all students of the land.
According him, if you go to the university campuses across the country, you find a lot of Gonja students but they do not partake in national activities.
“My main priority is to bring together these students as one unified force for the development of Gonjaland for that matter Savannah Region”, he said.
