As a testament of his continuous commitment to help improve the standards of education in his area, the honorable Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey has presented each of the 1,032 Candidates sitting for the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the District with a mathematical set to help them write the exams without stress.

The MP speaking to Yagbon News after handing over the maths sets to the District Education Unit for onward distribution to the candidates, said the math set is nothing but is a form of motivation for the kids to know that stakeholders in the District see’s them as people who matters.

He however bemoaned the declining standard of education in the District and attributed that to lack of teachers in the area.

According to him teachers are holding certificates and licenses but class rooms are empty because government cannot employ them which he said if not checked may collapse the education sector in the country.

He said funding of education at the basic level has not been a priority of this Government saying he is running all this projects on credit.

The total number of candidates expected to sit for this year BECE examination in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District is 1032 and it is my hope that all of them will excel to the next level after the exams.

Receiving the items on behalf of the District Director of Education, Mr David Dibaarnye described the kind gesture as timely adding that the MP is very consistent with such supports.
