The Bole District Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority and Assemblyman for “Mempeasem” Electoral Area, Mr Mohammed Shiraz-Deen, has called on all citizens especially the wealthy and people of goodwill, to devote some time and part of their resources to caring and helping the less privileged members of the society, particularly, the physically challenged in order to assist them in conquering their challenges.

Mr Shiraz-Deen made the call on Thursday, January 20, 2022, after he helped a physically challenged widow to get assistance from the Bole District office of the Social Welfare.

Speaking to Yagbon News, Mr Shiraz-Deen said that some few months ago he was returning from Damongo where he realized the plight of this less privileged woman from Lewayiri community in Kakiasi Electoral Area by name E-re returning from farm.

According to him, he quickly arranged some assistance from his little resources and later sourced for a wheel chair from Hon. Tamimu who was then DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.

He said he also bought a small mobile phone for her to enable her communicate with me when the need arises.

The Assemblyman added he further put up an application to the District Social Welfare officer for her to be placed on LEAP and another application for financial assistance for her to start a little business of her own at home .

The District Social Welfare Officer listened to plea and by the special grace of God, the he released some amount of money from his department to her, Shiraz-Deen told Yagbon News.

He thanked Mr Traugort, the District Social Welfare Officer for the support and equally appealed to kind hearted individuals to extend any assistance to Sis. E-re through him or the Assembly member for Kakiasi Electoral Area.

Mr Shiraz-Deen also expressed gratitude to the Assembly Member for Kakiasi Electoral Area, Mr Taakyen Robert Bougimatey for always serving as a communication link between him and Sister E-re when her line is off and also for bringing her to the District office.
