Some residents who reside at Jakala and its environs within the Bole township have threatened to embark on a massive demonstration if efforts are not taken to reshape and construct their road for them.

According to the residents, their town road which has since been abandoned by the contractor is causing a lot of accidents as deep gullies are dug along the shoulders of the road.

They said the road which the contractor started for the past four years has not seen any major rehabilitation as the contractor only dumped sand and chippings along the road.

According to them they have tried severally to get their road fixed but to no avail.

They said they will embark on a massive demonstration if the contractor fails to show signs of constructing the road .
The youth of the area has however conveyed all sands and chippings that were dumped along the shoulders and middle of the road into the gutters dug by the contractor.

Aminu Jaja, a resident of Jakala said they can’t wait for the contractor to kill people before he comes back to construct the road. According to him for over 4 years now the contractor has abandoned the road and accidents keep increasing in the area.

Abu photos, another resident added that the youth of Jakala will not sit aloof and watch their wives and children die and hence their decision to fill up the gutters created by the contractor.

The contractor, responding to the concerns of the residents said that he hasn’t been paid but hoping to return to the site to continue the work in few weeks when he receives his pay.
