Farmers of the Village Savings and Loans Association ( VSLA) in Goyiri has appealed to government to provide them with a dam to enable them maximize farming during the lean season.
They disclosed this when Deputy Savannah Regional minister attended an end of year share- out in the community.
Mr Fuseini Sufuyanii who is the secretary to the associations said the community does not have electricity and water for irrigation farming which will help boost their income levels at end of the farming season since the community is predominantly a farming community.

Mr Sufuyani said this when Jaksally and GIZ MOAP collaborating the association moved from a membership of fifty(50 ) to almost a hundred.
He stressed that others who were on illegal mining has stop to join the association.
The chief scribe said the community has three valleys which can hold water supply during dry season to sustain the activities of dry season farming
Reacting to the issue raised, the Deputy Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Emmanuel Yayu Tika said their concerns are heard appropriately.
He assured them of government preparedness toward those challenges through his flagship programme including one village on dam, planting for food and jobs and the 2020 year of road which will come with electricity and water.
The Hon. Deputy Regional Minister assured the people of Goyiri that if their concerns are not in the plan of the District Assembly, he will ensure they will added to the Regional plan.
