The Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Salifu Braimah has urged potential registrants in the ongoing voter’s registration exercise by the EC to follow the laid down rules in obtaining their voter’s ID cards.

He disclosed this to Yagbon Radio on Tuesday in reaction to the current happenings in Damongo constituency.

The Minister who is the Savannah Regional Security council chairman said the council was prepared for this prior to the registration exercise amidst threats by the two major political parties.

Hon. Braimah said RESEC condemned the actions of the youth of the area in the ongoing voter’s registration exercise.

The Hon. Minister said the Region is lacking behind and should be fighting for development not political fight’s.

He said the rules are clear and if any one has a concern, you challenge and proof for the issues to be resolved as all the political parties are represented at the various registration centres.

He said it is disappointing because only the Regional capital has this political tension which has reduced our Jakpa palace into political resolution palace.

Our palace must be respected, he noted.

“I was in the other District and the exercise has been peaceful” Hon Salifu Braimah said.

He said investigations are on going and people will be prosecuted for these kind of disturbances in the Regional Capital.

He said they have however met leadership of the two political parties thus; the NPP and NDC and tempers have been calmed.
