A senior lecturer with the University of Education, Winneba, Dr. Ahmed Jinapor, has called for a collaboration between the private and public health sectors to enable them to deliver quality health care in the country.
He stated that the potential for complementary solutions was to include the private sector in health care delivery.
He said this during the commissioning of a private health facility, Holistic Medicare, at Buipe in the central Gonja District of the Savannah Region on Wednesday, November 18, 2020.
Dr. Ahmed said it was important to modify local policies and regulations to foster the role of the private sector in developing the country.
Delivering a speech on behalf of the Paramount Chief of Buipe Traditional Area, His Royal Majesty Buipewura Jinapor II on the occasion of commissioning the health facility, Dr Ahmed noted that role played by the health facility in the delivery of quality health services in Buipe and its environs cannot be underestimated .
He said that Holistic Medicare has been exceptional in the provision of outstanding health care in eye care delivery, ambulance services, serves as a blood bank and absorbing overflow of accident cases.
The facility which is in phases has General OPD, General ward, mini theatre, ANC/CWC unit, VIP ward capacity, female ward, male ward, Emergency unit, among others for the initial phase.
The yet to be completed additional phase will add more infrastructure to enable the facility make access to health delivery effective in the area.
Apart from providing quality health services, Dr. Ahmed noted that, the facility will provide employment opportunities to the youth in the area and also provides practical training to internship students.
“Our doors are widely open to any investor who wish to invest with the Buipe Traditional Area to propel its growth and the Savannah Region at large”, Dr. Ahmed indicated.
Speaking at the occasion on behalf of the CEO Dr. Evans Kwara, a staff of the facility, indicated that the wellbeing of the people in the area is their main concern and hence the need to establish the facility to augment government’s efforts in providing access to quality health care delivery.
He noted that the strategic positioning of the facility at Buipe will be able to meet its demands of providing quality health care to the inhabitants near and far and also maintained the facility will collaborate with other professionals in other health facilities to achieve the goals of providing quality health care services.
He also seized the opportunity to thank Buipewura for the warm reception they had from him as he said, the site for facility was issued to them by the Chief.
Present at the colourful occasion were Hon. Mustapha Abdulai, District Chief Executive for Central Gonja, a representative of the Member of Parliament for the Yapei- Kusawgu constituency by Shiraz Ib Yason, a former District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director for Bole, Mr Laminu a representative of the Director of the Ghana Education Service and the Chief Imam.
