The Dandapere community R/C primary school has held a get- together for the pupils as part of efforts to increase school attendance and enrollment.

Awards were given to the best three pupils in each class for exceptional performances.

Addressing parents and pupils , the school management board, Mr wella Emmanuel expressed his gratitude to parents for the support since he took over the school a year ago as headteacher of the school.

He noted among other achievements a temporal office for keeping learning material and some hats for pupils to learn.

He however, pleaded with parents and other benevolent institutions to support them complete a three unit classroom which was funded by GHACEM through the Member of Parliament for Sawla Tuna Kalba constituency.

Mr Emmanuel encouraged parents to take their children’s education seriously although he expressed his satisfaction over the increased enrollment from 102 to 152 in the last one year.

He ended by encouraging parents to send their children of school going age to start the primary one in the next academic year.

The School Improvement and Support Officer Hon chorchitey Mathew encouraged parents to take the studies of their wards serious.

He stated that only education can maintain their legacy even if they are dead adding that only education can bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

The former constituency secretary of the National Democratic Congress said the member of Parliament for Sawla Tuna Kalba Hon Dari Chiwitey Andrew wish to have been part of the program but other equally important issues kept him away.

“The MP sent me with two football and a set of Jessy for their school team”,he said.

According to Mr chorchitey the MP said they shouldn’t forget him during voting as he didn’t forget them when he became MP for the constituency.
