The Calvary Redemption Church- Ghana with support from Christian Non-Governmental Organization based in the united states has commissioned three boreholes in the Wa West District of the Upper West Region.
The beneficiary communities included Berenyasi, Tieyiri and Vienkpeteng which were given water free of charge to provide potable water accessibility to residents in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the District Chief Executive for Wa West, the District planning officer Amina Baluwie, expressed her deepest appreciation to the leadership of the church for the invaluable contributions including socioeconomic and spiritual development of the district over the years.
She said the leaders of the church has good plans for the basic needs that confront residents in the district hence encouraged other religious bodies to emulate.
The planing Officer added that government appreciates the selfless sacrifices and support religious bodies bring to improve the lives of residents in the District.
She appealed to the beneficiary communities to maintain the boreholes commissioned to prolong their life span.
The chief of the community who spoke on behalf of the residents pledged to maintain the boreholes commissioned for generations unborn to benefit.
He also pledged to cooperate with other development agencies who seeks to bring growth in the area.
Hon Jerry John Ibu, who is the Assembly member for the Kuuchileyiri Electoral area said the situation in the area is worrying and called on other Non-Governmental Organization to come to their aid.
He however pledged to liaise with other development partners to pull development to the electoral area.
