The Bole Nursing and Midwifery Training College has celebrated its 10th Anniversary on the theme “producing quality health care professionals”, the role of stakeholders.
Delivering a key note address on the theme, AG Registrar for Nursing and Midwifery Council, Mrs Philomina A. N. Woolley said producing quality care professionals is key in health care delivery.
She said stakeholders for that matter must stay committed to their roles to achieve and quality health care by. professionals.
She said the quantity and quality health care delivery is underpinned by commitment and resources by the stake holders including school staff, students and community members.
Narrating the history of the school, the Principal, Madam Christina Terbobri, said the school was officially open on 28th September 2012 at the Bole District hospital with a certificate in community nursing.
She said the school can boast of a new campus with three causes including midwifery, diploma in community nursing.
She said the school is 10 yrs and but has challenges including lack of a generator for the new campus, a fence wall, teachers quarters among others.
The Member of Parliament, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, speaking at the occasion appealed to the government to expand the college’s infrastructure and complete some uncompleted projects in the college.
The MP also pleaded with the leadership of the school to avoid meddling politics into the activities of the college inorder to develop the school.
The Savannah Regional Minister, on behalf of the Vice President said they are to open a new university for Science and Technology in Savannah region.
He thanked the Chief, staff and people of Bole for their support in building the reputation of the school.
He said all the three health colleges in the region will be given an increase in quota by 100 students.
A one number story building building will be giving to the school come December, the minister said.
He also pledged to put up street lights for the school to increase visibility.
Dr Sulemana Achanso, the Advisory Board Chairman said the reason for the celebration is to reflect on the college’s ten years in producing quality health professionals.
He said the school is a tertiary institution but is not autonomous to raise IGF for its development and hence called on Chiefs and people of Bole to support the school financially to cater for it needs.
The event was successfully chaired by Bole wura Sarfo Kutuge Feso(l), Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area to the admiration of all.
