The Bole District Community Foundation(BDCF), which focuses on the development of the Bole District whiles serving as a philantronpist in contributing to improve the lives of the people was inaugurated today, 27th December, 2021 at the forecourt of the Bolewura’s Palace.

During the welcome address of Mr. Seidu Davies Kotomah, the Board Chairman of the BDCF he noted that the initiation of developmental projects is not the sole responsibility of only the government but a collective responsibility hence the notion behind the creation of the foundation.

The foundation according to him seeks to mobilize financial resources, expertise and the time of natives of the community both home and abroad, philanthropists and other developmental organizations to champion the cause of community development to compliment the efforts of the central government.

Mr. Seidu further disclosed that the idea for the formation of the foundation was adopted from the Pure Trust Foundation in February this year and even before its inauguration it undertook a career guidance lecture at the Bole SHS, has trained over 150 individuals in various skills and supported the mechanization of a borehole in Chache among other projects.

Dr. Sulemana Adams Achanso who was the guest speaker at the ceremony whiles commending the efforts of the foundation, reaffirmed that state resources world over are not enough for community development hence the reason for the creation of non profit organization to compliment the efforts of the central government.

Dr. Achanso implored the foundation to eschew party politics, the mismanagement of resources in its activities and to ensure that it accounts diligently to the people in order to redeem its trust and attract more contributors.

He added that if communities has their own resources, they will be able to champion their own development as at when the central government is failing to do so hence the need for the people of Bole and its environs to contribute to the sustainability of the foundation in order for it to achieve its vision for the collective benefit of the people.

As part of the inaugural ceremony, various dignitaries such as the MP for the Bole-Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana, the CEO of Pure Trust Foundation, Mr. Habib Haruna, Traditional and Religious leaders, the youth and other invited guests delivered speeches and made donations as part of efforts to raise a targeted Ghc200,000.00 seed fund for the foundation.
