A sod cutting ceremony for the commencement of the 60km Bole-Dollar Power road, has been performed by the Bole District Chief Executive, Madam Veronica Alele Heming.

When completed, the project is expected to improve capacity and to complement other completed new road projects,  to form a resilient network to meet travel demands.

She said the road will also help security agencies get easy access to the area.

The DCE added one of the key challenges of the area is accessibility as a result of that security agencies and other agencies are not able to undertake patrols.

The road is being constructed by the Ministry of Roads with the 48 Engineers Regiment as contractors.

DCE for Bole, Veronica Alele said the construction of the road will make the community easily accessible.

“They will construct the bridge, they have all their equipment here in the community. We need to give them a feeder road because the border itself is only a path for motorbikes. If we have a feeder road, it will help state agencies to monitor the activities here”.

The construction of the 60km road will involve the reshaping and graveling of the stretch.

The DCE also appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to consider fixing the temporary constructed Doli bridge as the area still poses alot of danger to road users.

She again added that there are a lot of roads in the District which needs urgent attention including the Bole- Chache road to link up Cote D’voire, the Dakuripe road and Sonyo road and hence appealed to the government to consider constructed the above mentioned roads.
