Supporters from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sawla -Tuna-Kalba constituency gathered on Monday to support the Parliamentary candidate Mr. Ankaara Sankara, as he filed his nomination forms for the 2024 general elections.
As part of the filing process the Parliamentary candidate was accompanied by his constituency executives and the DCE.
They earlier made a courtesy call at Sawlawura Palace as a respect to the customs and tradition.
Sawlawura Abdulai Nugbaso, urged them to sell their message devoid of insults.
He urged them to uphold to the peace before during and after the election.
Addressing party faithfuls at the party office, the constituency chairman Mr Mohammed Fuseini charged party supporters to begin campaigning henceforth.
He said it’s time to move from door to door to sell the message because victory is coming for NPP in Sawla Tuna Kalba constituency.
According to chairman Fuseini, the campaign message “it is our person ” is that the current candidate will determine if the constituency is voting on certain interest or is political interest.
He expressed his heart felt gratitude to the members for showing up even though the announcement was impromptu .
Ankara Sankara said he was very grateful to members for coming and said this is the time for them to start the campaign.
Hon Ankara Sankara said if a party elect a parliamentary candidate he remains an internal personality until he files his nomination.
“As you can all see we have filed and met all the requirements of the electoral commission and thank all of you for the support, you must campaign from door to door, room to room and bed to be for victory is coming”, he said.
He said this year they are winning the seat with the response from constituents.
Hon Ankara said since 1992 the constituency has not rip the fruit of their labour as not even a CEO has being appointed from this constituency from NDC.
He made a comparison to Damongo as a swing seat and how the constituency has massively developed from the NPP government for giving them a Member Parliament.
He ended by saying you can only get development when you get an appointee from your constituency and with Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and Ankara Sankara development is assured.
