This season’s MTN FA CUP preliminaries kicked off on November 2nd to the 10th across various zones in the country with only qualified regional Division Two Clubs and Division Ones battling for glory to excel to the round of 64 stage of the competition.
STK Stars FC from Sawla in the Savannah Region began their fifth campaign against Bongo based Division Two side Sheaga A-Town Real United far away in the land of crocodiles – Paga at the Town Park in the Upper East region on Friday 4th November 2022.
First half brace from the young versatile mid-fielder and former captain of Gindabo Young Stars, Aminu Rafiq was enough to secure STK STARS FC qualification to the round 64 ahead of their opponents who managed to get consolation in the 88th minute ending the game 2-1 in favour of STK STARS FC.
In an interview with Yagbon Radio assistant coach of the side Mr Kipo Charles thanked the Gonjas in Paga for their unflinching support before, during and after the game.
He particularly acknowledged the effort of Mr Mahama Haruna, General manager of Nkilgi FM who protested vehemently about the biased officiating during the game.
STK Stars next opponent for the round of 64 would be known when the draw is conducted in the coming days after the completion of all the games in this round.
