Nasco Feeding Minds Commissions REFFECT Africa Project at Tuna.

The REFFECT Africa project, a renewable energy for Africa effective valorization of agric food waste under the horizon 2020 European Union funding for research and innovation funded by European has been commissioned at Tuna by Nasco Feeding Minds.

The project located in Tuna Secondary High/Technical School is expected to produce renewable energy for the school and the entire Tuna community .

In a welcome address the headmaster of Tuna Secondary High/Technical School,  Mr. Dabortah James Zinkogtah expresses his gratitude to Nasco Feeding minds for the kind gesture.

The headmaster assured the donors that the facility will be put into good use adding that it is the first of it kind in Africa and for matter the site engineers need to ensure proper maintenance.

The co-founder and Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds Hon. Seidu Nuhu Banasco said when the NGO started in 2010 with the establishment of computer Labs, has faced a challenge of paying for electricity to power the facilities due to unfavorable government policies.

Addressing participants at the inauguration Mr. Banasco explained that some innovation must be employed to support their people for sustainable development.

He said after the program 29 consortiums were formed from 16 different countries with Ghana, Morocco and South Africa selected to form the REFFECT Africa with University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) as the Technical lead adding that he is glad that Nasco Feeding minds has formed the single highest investment in Sawla Tuna Kalba.

In an address the pro vice chancellor of UENR Professor J N Kuwornu said on behalf of the Vice chancellor, he expressed their joy for this ground breaking innovation which marks a significant strive in energy solution.

REFFECT Africa project he said align with the University research and innovation adding adding that it is their hope that this will impact the school ,students and the teachers.

Professor Kuwornu said the initiative is a collective determination to build a green and resilient future.

Tunawura, Mahama Amantana expressed his joy for the project and especially choosing his community.

Tunawura pleaded with the managers to maintain the project for sustainable power Tunawura and urged the partners to assist mount street lights in Tuna Community with the energy generated from the plant.
