The Ghanaian High Commissioner to Namibia, Her Excellency Salamatu Forgor, has urged Ghanaians to regularly go for medical checkups to know their health status.
She said health was paramount and that people should not wait till they fell sick before seeking medical attention.
Her Excellency Salamatu Forgor gave the advice in interview with the Yagbon News on Friday, November 27, 2020, when the NPP diaspora, of the Bole chapter organised a free health screening exercise for the people of Bole and its surrounding Communities as we journey into the December polls.
She thanked the DCE, the management of the Bole District Hospital and the people of Bole for accepting her donation at the District Hospital earlier in the day and entreats all natives of Bole to come home and invest the little they have and to donate to the various institutions in the District just as she has done to speed up development and ensure the well-being of the people of Bole and the Savannah Region as a whole.
she also preached about the achievements of the NPP and the Nana Addo Dankwa led administration and entreated the constituents to vote for the NPP Parliamentary Candidate David Sei Demah and Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo as a reciprocate to the kind gesture of the NPP government by appointing her as the Ghanaian High Commissioner to Namibia, the creation of the Savannah Region and a host of other projects in the Constituency under the watch of the NPP Government.
In an interview with Mr. Abdulai Ewuntomah, a native of Bole and member of the Diaspora medical team, disclosed that the free health screening exercise organised by the NPP Diaspora of the Bole chapter which is spearheaded by Her Excellency Elizabeth Salamatu Forgor is to ensure that the good people of the Bole-Bamboi Constituency are of a better health status to go and cast their votes come December 7.
He added that “this free health screening exercise is focused in screening people who may be suffering from Hypertension, Diabetes and Hepatitis B since these are the top 3 communicable diseases according to the Ghana Health Service”.
He also noted that the temperatures of all those who came for the health screening are checked so as to be able to detect signs of the novel COVID-19 virus.
He again thanked all those who contributed in their quota in ensuring that the program becomes a success and that there will be similar free health screening subsequently and after the 2020 general elections.
As of the time of the filling the story, over one hundred people have gone through the free health screening exercise and many more others were still at the scene.
