The wife of the Vice President of Ghana, Mrs Samira Bawumia has called on Fulanis living in Maluwe to stand prepared and ensure a sound and emphatic victory for President Akufo Addo in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in December.
She said the economic policies and programmes rolled out by the President Akufo Addo-Bawumia led NPP Government was enough justification for their mandate to be renewed to continue the good works they are doing for the country.
Samira Bawumia made this when she graced the enskinment of Chief of the Bargu family of Ghana, Chief Alhaji Ali Ahmed Bargujor in Maluwe in the Bole District of Savannah Region on September 4, 2020.
The Bargu clan is one of the largest in the fulani race in Ghana.
“We hold a great asset of rearing animals and hence let’s capitalised on that to contribute our quota to the development of Ghana”, Samira told her fellow tribesmen.
She urged them to be law abiding and not involve in activities that tarnish their image as she is ready at any time in supporting them.
In a speech by the Savannah Regional Minister Hon Salifu Adams Braimah said in recent times Savannah Region has been in news for bad reasons for attacking women and called on the Second Lady to help in campaigns against this barbaric act.
Hon Braimah recounted the incident at Kafaba that led to death of 90 year old woman and the recent attack on a woman at Sumpini as they are accused of being witches.
Hon. Braimah who is also the MP and NPP parliamentary Candidate for Salaga South said, he assured the second lady of landslide victory for NPP in the Savannah Region as he encouraged all to ensure a peaceful elections in the Region and Ghana at large.
Speaking to Yagbon Radio, the National Organizer of Ghana Fulanis Association Alhaji Ahmed Barry said there is a difference between Fulanis living in Ghana and those that are not.
Fulanis are Ghanaians just like Mrs Samira and many others. He bemoaned the challenge of fulanis living in Ghana being denied of national documents.
He said the contribution of fulanis to the food basket in the country cannot be over emphasised.
He also urged his colleagues not to engage in crime and expressed optimism that one day Mrs Samira Bawumia will become the first lady of Ghana.
The enskinment of chief Ali Ahmed Bargujor attracted Fulanis from both local and international fulani communities organized by the Bargu family and facilated by Ghana Fulani Association.
