The incumbent Savannah Regional Chairman, Alhaji Imoro Seidu, has declared his intention to retain his position as the Regional Chairman.
He made the declaration on Friday, September 18, 2026, at Sawla in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency.
Speaking in an interview with Yagbon Radio News, Alhaji Seidu, popularly known as Chairman Man Blessing, said he is fully prepared to file his nomination to contest the Savannah Regional Chairmanship race.
According to him, his decision followed broad consultations with key stakeholders of the party. He disclosed that he paid a courtesy visit to H.E. John Dramani Mahama and some Members of Parliament from the Savannah Region to officially inform them of his intention, adding that he was warmly received and assured of their full support.

On the ongoing constituency elections, Alhaji Seidu stated that nominations have been opened in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency and every eligible party member has the right to contest for any position.
He stressed that no one should be prevented from picking nomination forms on the basis of tribe, whether Brifor, Lobi, Gonja or any other ethnic group in the area.
“If given the mandate to retain my office, God willing, in 2028 we will rescue and win all seven parliamentary seats in the Savannah Region and move forward to bring the party back to power,” he assured.
Alhaji Seidu further called on the people of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba to embrace peace as the party’s internal elections approach, urging all stakeholders to ensure the process is conducted without disagreement or tension.
