
ASSA Foundation, a non-profit organization has been birthed to foster developmental initiatives in Bole and its catchment areas.
The Chief of Tinga in the Bole Traditional Area, Samson Abudu who is also the Savannah Regional Council of State Member, initiated the foundation to foster the distribution of development in the traditional area.
The inauguration at Bole in the Bole District in the Savannah Region on June 25,2026, brought together traditional leaders, government officials, community members and development partners to mark the beginning of a foundation committed to social and economic transformation.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of the Foundation, Tingawurs, outlined the foundation’s vision, mission, core values goals and activities which included improving healthcare, education,
agriculture, environmental protection, water and sanitation, youth empowerment and women’s empowerment.
He maintained that development is a shared responsibility and no government, institution or individual can do it alone and also lasting transformation occurs when traditional authorities, government, civil society, development partners and citizens work together with a common purpose.
The Council of State Member added that the Foundation will focus on key areas that directly impact the quality of life of our communities and these include and community development.
These include drug and substance abuse which has become one of the greatest threats confronting the youth today a destroying dreams, weakens families, increases crime and deprives the nation of productive citizens .
Environmental degradation is another challenge that demands our urgent attention as a mining community, Tinga and other communities within the Bole District must be proactive in protecting our lands, forests and water bodies.
According to the Council of State Member the establishment of the ASSA Foundation is a fulfilment of a vision to complement the development efforts of government and other stakeholders by creating opportunities that improve the lives of the people, especially the youth, women and other vulnerable members of the society.
He therefore called for a collaborative effort from all stakeholders towards the realization of the foundation’s goals.
