Wuripe and Sons Royal Lodge, an ultra-modern lodge in Bole of the Savannah Region has paid for the registration of 1,000 people under the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
The beneficiaries included mostly the less privileged groups within the Bole Traditional Area.
The exercise forms part of the Lodge’s social corporate responsibility in marking its second anniversary.
The Manager of the beautiful edifice, Mr Dziwornu James, speaking to the media at the premises of the Bole District National Health Insurance Authority as the exercise began today, said the registration was to enable the beneficiaries to enjoy benefits under the national health insurance policy.
He said vulnerable people must be assisted by philanthropists, organizations and individuals to live healthy lives.
Mr James stated that healthy people constituted a healthy nation and indicated that such people also needed to be strong to contribute to the development of the country.
He added that the Lodge, since its opening in September 2022, has embarked activities to the benefit of the Bole Traditional Area.
Mr Abdulai Haruna, Secretary to the Bole Traditional Council, speaking to the media on the sidelines of the activity thanked the CEO of the Lodge and mentioned that the activity has the full support of the Bolewura Palace.
According to Mr Haruna, the beneficiaries were selected by the Assembly Members in the two Districts, thus, Bole and Sawla- Tuna-Kalba which constitutes the Bole Traditional Area.
He said each District has been given a quota of 500 to enroll them into the NHIS for free.
The Royal Lodge which is termed as the heart of Savannah Region consists of 43 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, swimming pools, gym centre, a conference room and other leisure facilities.
