A Non Profitable Organisation known as “Wipe Away Foundation” with the mission of helping the venurable in the society been launched at Yapei in the Central Gonja District of Savannah Region on 1st November, 2020.
Speaking at the launch, the Director of the newly inaugurated Foundation, Mr. George Amoah Attah said it behooves on us as creators of God to support the less privileged in our communities.
He said the foundation currently focuses on the health challenges of the venurable and supporting them financially to make a decent living.
The Director commended the Public Relations Officer for the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council Mr. Mufti Habibu with the vision of seeking for funds to support the needy.
He said the foundation only operates in Savannah Region for now, but their target is to go beyond Savannah.
A provision shop was handed over to a disabled lady Abdallah Asana in Yapei which he said would help her to earn a living and also help her further her education.
Hon. Joyce Bawa Mogtari who represented the former President and flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama also commended Mufti and his crew for coming up with such innovative vision of supporting the poor and the needy in Region.
Joyce Bawa said she would’ve loved the Foundation to be a Gonja name instead of the “Wipe Away Foundation”.
She encouraged sister Asana to work hard to make a decent living from the shop that was donated to her.
She encouraged the general public to support Mufti and his foundation in any form to grow to be able to reach out more poor and needy people within the Region.
The Yapeiwura thanked the founders and Managers of the Foundation for their initiative to support the poor.
He said there are still many disables like the blind, deaf and mentally challenged people in the District and for that matter, pleaded with the Foundation and other NGOs to come to their aid and support those people to live better lifes by putting up a vocational skill institution for them to acquire some skills.
The Yapeiwura on behalf of the entire family of Abdallah Asana who has been taken away from the road side where she begs from people to make a living thanked Mr. Mufti and his crew for the positive impact giving to the young disabled lady .
