The NPP Council of Elders in the Bole- Bamboi constituency have denied supporting any politician to be nominated as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole in the Savannah Region.

The NPP Council of Elders in the Bole- Bamboi constituency under the chairmanship of Mr Abudu Mahama had issued a disclaimer to a purported statement that the constituency Council of Elders have thrown their support behind the Savannah Regional Youth Organizer, Akati Mahama Abdul-Rahim to be appointed as District Chief Executive.

According to the disclaimer,the Council of Elders stated that they would not condone to divide the rule tactics particularly when the president who has the final say has not made any declaration.

“Over the week we sighted a list purporting to be shortlisted and DCE nominees for the various MMDCE accross the country. The council of elders would like to without any shred of doubt put it on record , that the council has not issued any press statement congratulating any of the candidates”, the disclaimer added.

The chairman of the Council of Elders Mr Abudu Mahama, speaking on Tuesday edition of Yagbon radio morning show refuted the claim that the council has recommended a particular candidate for the position of Bole DCE.

He told Diwura Fataw,host of Yagbon radio morning host that he received a message from a council member that he has made recommendation that Akati Mahama Abdul- Rahim to be made DCE for Bole District.

He stated emphatically there was no such conversation any where and such circulated information should be treated with all the contempt it deservye.

He said they never had any meeting to discuss any thing of a sort adding that the appointment of the DCE is at the bossom of the president and any one appointed will be accepted.

He also stated that such decisions are collectively done with all members of the council saying no one has made such recommendation in support of Akati Mahama Abdul- Rahim as a DCE for Bole.

Read the full disclaimer by the Council of Elders below;

DISCLAIMER : BOLE-BAMBOI NPP COUNCIL OF ELDERS WELCOMES DECISION BY THE MMMDCE VETTING COMMITTEE TO RECOMMEND AKATI MAHAMA ABDUL-RAHIM AS DCE FOR BOLE

Over the week we sighted a list purporting to be shortlisted and DCE nominees for the various MMDCE accross the country. The council of elders would like to without any shred of doubt put it on record , that the council has not issued any press statement congratulating any of the candidates. We are a council that proffers wise council and would not condone to divide and rule tactics particularly when the President who has the final say has not made any declarations!

For the avoidance of doubt , per the list sighted, all three candidates are members of the New Patriotic Party in Bole-Bamboi constituency in good standing.

1. Abdulai Ibrahim is the current constituency secretary who has also served the Party as a constituency communication Director. Prior to this, he also served as the constituency youth Organiser for the party. For his hard-work, he was subsequently elected to serve the party as a constituency Organizer.

2. Abdul- Rahim Akati Mahama is the current Regional youth organizer for savana region, from Bole who until his elevation served as communication Director for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency under the current Constiteuncy leadership.

3. Raphael Kumah Abolasom is is a polling station youth organizer from Bamboi, who contested the 2019 parliamentary primaries with the constituency First Vice Chairman who pulled 37 votes, the then Constituency secretary who pulled 215 voters and Raphael 151 votes.

The council of elders is saddened by this singular act which sought to pitch the council against the other shortlisted candidates. We do not know why anyone will orchestrate such malice.

We therefore entreat all and sundry to treat the forged congratulatory message with the contempt it deserves.
