The Upper West Regional Police Command, has assured the public of a peaceful atmosphere during the celebration of this year’s Christmas.

The regional police command made this known they paid a courtesy call to the Waala Traditional Council on Tuesday, 30th November, 2021.

The regional police commander ACP/Mr. Peter A. Ndebugri with some senior officers with the regional police commandment expressed their commitment to ensure the respect for law and order and the promotion of peace and called for the cooperation of the overlord of the Waala tradition council, Wa Naa Fuseini Pelpuo, his sub-chiefs and queen mothers.

The police command noted that the traditional council as a stakeholder has a role to play in ensuring peace and stability in the area and requested the chiefs to caution residents in their various communities against deviance.

The traditional leaders who appreciated the proactive approach from the police command assured them of their support in solving issues of security and the implementation of initiatives.

The Wa Naa however, cautioned the police command about the activities and conduct of some officers which has the tendency of tarnishing the integrity of the service.

Some significant crime activities within the Wa municipality and the Region as a whole included cattle rustling, drug abuse, motorbike pilfering, kidnapping, circulation of profane pictures and videos among others, the police statement issued by the regional command stated.
