Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy has set the bar very high by coming out victorious in all five finals they played in the just ended 14th edition of the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Gala held in Seripe from 27th to 30th December 2023.
The Academy side beat the host Seripe in both boys and girls categories of the under 13 finals as well as the under 15 girls category.
The determined Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy also dominated under 10 category.
They dispatched Makumah Jakpa Warriors Volleyball Club in the girls’ final by sets to zero and beat Seripe Mighty Fingers Volleyball Club again in the boys’ final by two sets to one.
As a result, Gbogdaa has picked up an unprecedented five (5) trophies out of six thereby setting the bar very high in the famous competition. Before this remarkable success, the record was three set by the same club on two accassion.
Having won five of the six contested trophies the Academy side were handed the giant overall champions trophy as well.
In an interview with Yagbon Radio after the closing ceremony, an obviously elated coach of Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy Mr Osman Issahaku aka Champion revealed that the secret of his side triumph down to hard work and dedication from his players.
The team upon returning home presented all five trophies and medals to the chief of Gbogdaa, the GbogdaaWura.
Information available exclusively to Yagnong Radio has it that a massive victory party will be organised by the community to honour the players.
The 14th edition of the Bole District Juvenile Volleyball Gala saw six teams out of the registered nine turning up with Maluwe, Dabouyiri and Simariyiri failing to turn up for various reasons.
The next edition is set for March 2024 in Gbogdaa.
