The Senior House master of Bole Senior High School, Mr Gaspard has urged students of the school to see discipline as a tool for academic excellence.

He said discipline led to social freedom and empowered people to be focused and, therefore, should be nurtured for the achievement of future goals.

Mr Gaspard said this during the handing over ceremony of old executives of the Bosec branch of the Gonjaland Youth Association over the weekend at the school’s premises .

He admonished them to also take their culture serious because that is their identity and added that those who agreed to serve the association is a stepping stone for them to manage bigger positions in the future.

Addressing colleague students the out- gone president Mr Sumani Iddrisu, said one does not need to be a Gonja to be part of the association but if you reside in Gonjaland you qualify to part of the group.

He mentioned among other achievements in the promotion of sports,  promoting discipline among the members and organizing health walks for their members.

He expressed gratitude to their teachers and admonished his colleagues to study hard and come out flying colours.

The newly sworn in President Issahaku Abdul Shamiw , expressed his delight for been elected as president adding that his last few years as a member has exposed him to a lot of customs and traditions of Gonjaland.

He promised to do right to all manner of persons in the association by representing their interest.

He said members should see this as an opportunity to learn more about their culture and promised to collaborate with the school authority for their educational development.

Addressing the media, the school patron said education is not all about the British language but about the culture of the students too.

He said such activities give opportunity to students to practically learn the Gonja culture considering the bulky nature of the Gonja culture.
