STK Stars emerged victorious of the four- team, three-day sub middle league of this year’s Northern Regional Division Two Competition in Buipe.
The Sawla based football club qualified for the final stage of the road to Division One ahead of Savannah Regional rivals: Mole National of Damango, Black Hacks of Buipe and fellow Sawla based team Kanyiti FC.
STK Stars which is coached by a CAF licenced coach, Mr Alhassan Abdul Rahman who doubles as the FA chairman for the Sawla Tuna Kalba District Football Association held thier arch rivals Mole National to 1-1 in thier opening match on Saturday.
They then saw off town rivals Kanyiti FC by 6 goals to zero on Sunday before finishing the job in style against Black Hawks by hammering them 4-0 to win the competition ahead of Mole National on goal difference having obtained 7 points each.
Meanwhile, the other team from Sawla in its maiden competition finished bottom with just a point.
The Gonjaland champions will now meet 4 other super zonal champions from Bimbila, Tamale and North East in Tamale on a yet to be announced date for the final stage of the road to the envious Division One.
