
The Presiding Member (PM) for Sawla -Tuna- Kalba District Assembly, Mr Abdulai Mohammed has been re-elected for a second term.
The poll held on Tuesday had 40 out of 42 assembly members voting in favour of the incumbent.
In a brief remark after his re-election, Mr Mohammed thanked the members for the trust and confidence reposed in him.
Mr Mohammed appealed to the assembly members to work as a team, saying “like the proverbial keyboard, one key alone cannot make a melodious tune.

”The re-elected PM prevailed upon the assembly members to desist from any pull him down attitude, which has the potential to derail the numerous developmental projects and social interventions gaining roots.
In a short address prior to the poll, the District Chief Executive, Sinkina Saaka urged assembly members to vote for the incumbent to enable him to continue his good works, adding that “they should vote for continuity in development.
”He urged them to have a united front as they vote, because there was no other contender for the position.
The DCE prevailed on members the value of working with a common objective for the betterment of the municipality, adding that they should always work in harmony.
The DCE also highlighted on various developmental projects been undertaken by the District Assembly.The projects ranges from water expansion, reshaping of feeder roads, provision of educational infrastructure and support to PWDs within the District.
