The Savannah Regional Fire Commander, ACFO I Emmanuel Ofori Adjei has paid a working visit to the Sawla SHS to have a first information on the perennial fires outbreak in the school.
On Wednesday 26th October, Dramani house was raised down by fire which was under investigation and on November, 2, 2022, the prefect dormitory also got burnt.
The Regional Fire Commander informed the the media that his visit was to have a first hand information on the school’s inferno’s.
He said wiring is properly done but cautioned the students to be vigilant in handling with wires and urged them to pay keen attention to fire regulations.
He said perennial fire season is here with us so this and that this is a wake up call for all to be vigilant.
The Regional Fire Commander stated that fire hydrants are not available at the Sawla fire station and assured to plead with the Sawla District hospital to assist them with their hydrants.
He called on the public to rely on fire service hotline but also called on them consider fire officers as their friends and have their contacts for information sharing during fire situations.
The Regional Public Relation Officer, Mr Salisu M Siribaini, said the visit was necessary because it has opened up some issues which needs attention.
He said the office have seen some attempt of fire in some parts of the building that call for further investigation into the perennial fire outbreak in the school.
