The Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Professor Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah, has received the Health Environment Safety and Security (HESS) award on Monday, July 03, 2023.
The HESS awards is an initiative aimed at identifying, publicly recognizing and celebrating companies, teams and individuals for their exceptional performance and innovations focused on occupational health, the environment and employees and stakeholder’s safety and security.
On the occasion of the 5th Edition of such awards, HESS settled on the venerable Professor as one of the people worthy of such recognition.
Having been the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service of Ghana for over a decade, the recipient is credited with building a robust emergency service delivery system for Ghana.
Under his leadership, the service has grown from a staff strength of less than one hundred to over two thousand personnel who are contributing significantly towards quality emergency service delivery in Ghana.
Also, from about seven District offices at the inception of the National Ambulance Service, the institution now has almost 300 stations with all districts in Ghana hosting offices.
Presenting the award to Prof. Zakariah, the leadership of HESS, called on him to continue to do his best amidst the daunting challenges to take Ghana to higher heights.
The HESS team was represented by Nana Adu-Gyamfi Isaac, Director or Events and Madam Matilda Addo, Head of Communications.
On his part, the CEO of the National Ambulance Service, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zakariah thanked the team from HESS for the recognition.
He indicated that such gestures were enough motivation and have over the years given him hope that his little contribution to building a standard emergency service system for Ghana was getting the needed support.
He added that his love for Mother Ghana remains at the apogee, and hence, he will continue to serve with integrity,honesty, and a high level of professionalism.
