The Presiding Member for the Sawla Tuna- Kalba District Assembly Hon.Mohammed Abdulai, has made a significant contribution to the Sawlawura’s Palace by donating a state-of-the-art public address system.

According to the PM who also serves as Assembly Member for the Kawurbi Electoral Area, the donation was motivated by the challenges he personally observed at the palace during important engagements.

He explained that during the recent conflict in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District, the Sawlawura Palace received several high-level visitors who often came with large entourages.

However, due to the absence of a proper public address system, discussions and deliberations held at the palace could not be clearly heard by people outside, limiting effective communication.

In response to this challenge, Hon. Abdulai Mohammed decided to support the palace with public address system to enhance communication during important meetings and traditional gatherings.

The items donated included two speakers and other accompanying accessories.

Addressing participants at the donation ceremony, the Chief of Sawla, Sawlawura Abdulai Nungbaso, expressed his profound gratitude to the Assembly Member for the kind gesture.

He described the donation as timely and very beneficial to the palace and the entire traditional area.

The chief emphasized that the palace does not belong to an individual or a single ethnic group, but to all residents of the Sawla enclave.

He therefore noted that the donation was not for him as a chief alone, but for the people of Sawla as a whole.

He offered prayers for the Assembly Member, acknowledging his higher political ambitions and wishing him success in all his endeavors.

He stated that when leaders are elevated to higher positions, they are able to do more for their people, and expressed hope that God would guide Hon. Abdulai Mohammed to achieve his aspirations.

The chief further called on the youth and residents of the Savannah Region to maintain peace, noting that peace is essential for development.

He said that President John Dramani Mahama is a son of the Savannah Region and Gonja land, and can best support the region’s development if peace is sustained.

According to him, the Savannah Region remains one of the most underdeveloped regions in Ghana, and unity and peace are key to attracting development.

He therefore urged all well-meaning citizens to promote peaceful coexistence to create an enabling environment for progress.
