Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia , the vice president of Ghana on Monday, September 7, 2020, said, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government has done a lot to deserve the votes of the electorate in the Savannah Region.

He emphasised that the government had not neglected the Savannah Region in the distribution of the national cake, saying within the three and half-year term, development witnessed in the area was unparalleled.

Speaking at the palace of Yagbonwura at Damongo, Dr.Bawumia called on the people of Savannah Region to appreciate the President by voting to renew his mandate in the Election 2020.

He said the level of development in the Region was obvious for everybody to see.

Mr Bawumia, said education, health, agriculture, road network and electricity had been improved including the creation of the Savannah Region.

Dr. Bawumia said the restoration of teachers and nurses allowances by the NPP government has rekindled the hopes and aspirations of the Ghanaian student.

Dr. Bawumia said former president Mahama never trusted the implementation of the Free SHS and therefore cannot be trusted in his hands because he never supported its implementation.

The Gonja Traditional Council led by the Yagbonwura Tumtumba Boresa applauded the vice president and the NPP government for creating the Savannah Region and appealed for an overpass in the Regional Capital (Damongo) to reduce the spate of road accidents in the area.
