Over 600 basic school children in Kalba in the Sawla -Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region have benefitted from a free eye screening aimed at assisting school kids with visual problems.
This was done through a collaboration between HiChale and Bliss Eye Care from Wa who came with a team of 15 healthcare professionals to carry out the exercise.
The Managing Director of Hichale got to know the Director of Bliss Eye Care, Dr. Zackaria throuhh Wiyaala who is a board member of HiChale.
This is the first of it’s kind that such a massive eye screening has been organised mainly for only school children.
Many parents expressed deep satisfaction and gratitude to the two organisations for partnering to bring such a remarkable project to Kalba.
Many kids with minor Eye problems were give free medication while those with major issues were given referral notes to visit hospitals for further investigation and correction.
The people of Kalba were excited and are calling for such intervention to help prevent the Many Eye issues that are worrying some of the school children and affecting their studies.
