The incumbent Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana popularly known as Prof. Kalomonia had retained his position in a keenly contested election at Damongo on Friday.
He polled 112 votes to beat his only contender, Mr Azumah Abass who had 60 votes.
However, the incumbent Regional Secretary, Haruna Iddrisu lost his position with 68 votes as against 104 garnered by the regional secretary-elect, Mohammed Issah.
Other winners of the contest were Dr Abudu Amadu Musa, 1st Vice Chairman, Johnson Kwame Gyinde , 2nd Vice Chairman, Mayoyo Aminu Sulemana, Assistant Secretary, Raphael Akati Mahama, Youth Organiser, Abu Lutie, Treasurer, Kwame Abaogye, Organizer, Hajia Safia Mohammed, Women’s Organiser and Mohammed Marhey Bamba, Nasara Coordinator.
