A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), operating at Kalba in the Sawla -Tuna-Kalba District ,HiChale has launched its 1st anniversary celebrations in Kalba with institutions commending the organization for its tremendous efforts at helping the less privileged in society and making education accessible for all.
HiChale works alongside rural, underdeveloped communities to create and establish sustainable solutions for education, and equal opportunities for all people regardless of gender, age or economic status.
Residents of Kalba and beyond have since commended the organization for community empowerment through education and other social interventions.
Many have urged HiChale to keep up the good work and reach other communities in the District.
Mr Emmanuel Dery Kuusani, the Managing Director of HiChale commended the organisation for transforming the lives of the less privileged in society.
He noted that the District Education Directorate has recognised the immense contribution of HiChale and urged them to do even more and continue to be a shining example for other organisations in the same field.
He noted that, through the many social interventions initiatives by HiChale, the lives of vulnerable people, especially children, have been transformed positively.
Mr. Kuusani said the anniversary will give the organisation the chance to not only appreciate their journey but also look forward to all the opportunities they have envisaged as they continue to ignite passion in communities across the District.
He noted that their approach over the year gives communities a firm stake in major decisions that affect their lives, ownership and leadership in project implementation.
Mr. Kuusani noted that while their projects bring about infrastructure and programmes that are sustainable for the long term, it also sparks passion and ambition in community members to initiate other development projects for themselves.
Many have praised HiChale for their good works and called for support for the organization to enable them to reach out to more communities.
The anniversary celebrations is set to commence on Saturday March 16 and it is expected to end Monday March 18, 2024.
Activities of the anniversary shall include football matches with the aim of promoting peaceful coexistence,clean up exercise and live performances from top notch musicians from Damongo, Wa, Sawla and Cote d voire.

HiChale is a newly established NGO from a Church-based partnership between the people of the Kalba Roman Catholic Parish and their friends from Altenberge-Erika in Germany through a Catholic Missionary, Rev. Fr. Hagen of Blessed Memory.
The establishment of the NGO is to continue with the vision of this partnership, which has for over four decades financed hundreds of development projects in the Kalba area.
