Nasco Feeding Minds, an NGO’s in partnership with GES Directorate in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district has organized Digital Education Workshop for ICT teachers and their coordinators.

The theme for the program is “Strengthening ICT Education And Digital Inclusion Through Accessible Computer Classrooms”

Mr. Banasco Seidu Nuhu, Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Minds speaking at the program stated that the organization has been working in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district for sometime especially in the digital literacy.

Mr. Banasco Seidu, mentioned that the one day workshop which is a collaboration program with GES, director and his officials, circuit supervisors, headteachers and teachers mainly to have a conversation on how they can collaborate more closely to ensure that the ICT facilities they have in the area are well utilized and well taken care of.

This has become necessary because as stakeholders in the delivery of education you need to rely on well established structures and he believes that GES has those well established structures.

Nasco Feeding Minds has seen it important that they have this collaboration to ensure that their effort are highlighted by these institutions and so once they have been working with GES over the years it’s one of a refresher to re assign roles and to assign a circuit supervisors in areas that they have the computers.

Again GES has also appointed the desk officer who will be responsible for visiting the centers and doing monitoring works and reporting back to them what they need to do, and so for it is an important program because it will go a long way to ensure that the purpose with which the centers are established are realize.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Natomah Fuseini, the Human Resource GES Sawla-Tuna-Kalba, charged the ICT teachers to make the best use of the computer labs in their various schools.

“We are so much interested in the impact of the facilities and so as part of our working plans we have appointed a coordinator specifically for the computer laboratories”

Mr. Fuseini added that the headteachers have the single responsibility to make sure the school children use the computers, they should ensure that the computers are safe and should be taken good care of them.

Mr. kwesi Yeboah, the district education director for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district noted that they are going to put the computers in good use and keep them safe.

He added that this is an opportunity for us and I will want to plead with you to see it as your own project and not as a donor project owned it and take good care of them.

The education director thanked the executive director of Nasco Feeding Minds for organizing such a workshop for them in the district and also promise the NGO’s that the pit them in good use and also do regular monitoring.
