The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole- Bamboi constituency in the Savannah Region Yussif Sulemana, (Ori) has presented sanitary kits to the Bole Health Directorate in support of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

The items, which include Veronica buckets, hand sanitizers, infra red thermometers, gloves, tissues, liquid soap and facemasks purchased at the cost of GHȼ 45,000, are meant for onward distribution to all the 25 CHPs compounds in the constituency.

The donation was made by the constituency lawmaker with assistance from his constituency party executives at his residence on Tuesday, April, 7, 2020.

Hon. Sulemana stated that hand washing and hygiene in general are the most preventive approaches to the fight against the COVID-19 which then necessitated his donation.

“The fight against covid- 19 should be out of politics because the virus doesn’t know political colours” the MP stated.

The MP added that other vantage points in the district have also been identified and some of the Veronica buckets would be placed there to encourage hand washing as a way of curbing the deadly virus in the District.

The MP doff his hat to all stakeholders and individuals who have contributed their quota to fighting the deadly corona virus in the area.

The District Health Director David Bakuri who received the items, expressed gratitude to the MP for the gesture, and said they will go a long way to complement those bought by other individuals and stakeholders in the District.

He pledged to distribute the assorted items to the various CHPs compounds and added that the items had come at the right time.

He also thanked individuals and other groups who have donated to the Directorate in the fight against covid-19 and said all hands are needed on deck to accomplish the fight.

Ghana’s case count in relation to the COVID-19 outbreak currently stands at 287 with 5 reported deaths.
