Member of Parliament for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey has presented GH₵ 40,000.00 towards the rehabilitation of the St. Joseph Health Center at Kalba which hit by rainstorm, on March 20, 2022.
Welcoming the constituency legislator and his entourage at Kalba, the in-charge of the facility Hon. George Sobiitey Karachiitey, said the situation has left them with no option than to manage health care under trees.
He said he was very grateful for the efforts made by the MP so far to see the facility back on its feet for effective health delivery adding the contractor will be on site latest by Friday.
The District Director of Health, Mr Alhassan Abukari, speaking at the short ceremony described the facility as a teaching hospital as he said the number of people the facility is serving is enough to be described as such.
He also described the situation as but a bit relieved as support is been received from the MP to fix the damaged health facility.
Chief of Kalba, Saaka Amaliya, said they had earlier received 10,000 Ghana cedis from 4ward development an NGO in water management.
He expressed his gratitude to the Mp for bringing that NGO to them and his donation.
The MP explained that the 4WARD development is coming to develop water system in the district and urged the constituent to prepare for them.
Hon. Andrew also expressed his dissatisfaction over the action of NADMO for not supporting affected homes since the incident in March.
He also lamented over NHIA owing the facility over 307 000 Ghana cedis but however promised to meet with the head office to fast track the payment to the health center.
